Oh What a Night! The Medicine Ball 2023

The Medicine Ball 2023 lived up to the hype at the Omni Hotel Fort Worth on April 1, 2023. It was another high-energy night with everyone's favorite live band: Le Freak, "The Greatest Disco Band in the World." The evening opened with The Tower Digital and Tower Medic Cocktail Reception and the Signature Cocktail, the Remedy. We had wonderful Medical Student Volunteers in their white coats selling raffle tickets for the always popular raffle packages. After checking in, Doctor's were treated with an opportunity to win the Doctor's Day Door Prize exclusively for Doctor's to say Thanks for all You Do! Dr. Art and Mrs. Barbara Garcia donated 4 tickets to a Ranger's game and parking pass that was paired with a bottle of TX Whiskey. Dr. Shae Holt a partner at Gold Sponsor, Texas Kidney Consultants took home the Doctor's Day Door prize.

The Tower Medic Cocktail Reception filled quickly and the room was buzzing with guests catching up with friends they don't see often enough, introductions being made bringing more people into our Family of Medicine and so many pictures taken to capture the moment. Dinner gave ample time for socializing with the people at your table and watching the slide show. There were thank you's to our generous sponsors and photos of physicians at work and at play in recognition of Doctor's Day that was last week. We were so happy to have special guests, TMAA President, Libby White and TMAA President-Elect Elizabeth Vanexen join us to experience what makes The Medicine Ball and Tarrant CMSA so special.

Le Freak, The Greatest Disco Band in the World, transported us back to the '70s and ’80s where we danced for two hours non-stop! There were plenty of shenanigans from the band and some from the guests as well - all in great fun - including the Medical Residents whose tickets were generously underwritten.

By the end of the night, more than $63,000 was raised to support our Foundation’s Community Health Projects. There is no better way to raise money to support our community health projects: Vaccines Defend What Matter, Allied Health Scholarships, Project Access Tarrant County, and Hard Hats for Little Heads. If you weren't able to attend The Medicine Ball, don't despair, you can donate today!
